Creativity at its Peak as Bishop Nwobi Lauds Young Talent

Diocese Awards Scholarship to Master Chrysanctus Ekeocha

His Lordship, Most Rev. Simeon Okezuo Nwobi, CMF, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, during the Cathedraticum at Victor’s Deanery, Ekwerazu, offered a pointed affirmation that human potential is not constrained by age and that genuine talent, wherever it appears, deserves both recognition and cultivation.

This remark followed an exciting presentation of a finely constructed model of Maria Mater Ecclesiae Cathedral, assembled with corrugated cardboard and light decorative detailing, crafted by Master Chrysanctus Ekeocha Chiemerie.

At an age when most boys are still learning to lace their shoes properly, Chiemerie, who is only 12 years of age, is already tying together creativity and brilliance. Born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Nnamdi Ekeocha of Amuzi, Obowo Local Government Area, Imo State, Chiemerie currently lives in Umuagbavu, Umuokrika, Ekwerazu, with his parents. He is undergoing his junior secondary school education at Sacred Heart Technical College, Amuzi Obowo, and he is in JSS1.

Moved by the presentation, Bishop Nwobi expressed visible satisfaction, commending the ingenuity and discipline reflected in the work and urging young people to be more productive with their talents, time, and resources. In a gesture that added weight to his words, the bishop announced a full scholarship for Master Chiemerie to run through the entirety of his secondary education.
