On the 7th of January 2026, BertoEdAngeli Medical Center, in collaboration with Holy Rosary Hospital, Ogbor Nguru, successfully carried out the third phase of the holistic medical outreach to the people of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, Imo State.
The outreach was hosted at Divine Love Hospital, Amuzu Aboh-Mbaise, where members of the community turned out in large numbers, showing a clear need for accessible and compassionate healthcare services.
The beneficiaries, comprising children, men, women, and youth, were attended to with care and professionalism.
The medical services provided included health screenings such as blood pressure checks and blood glucose tests, which helped identify underlying health concerns, as well as medical consultations where individuals received proper evaluation and guidance from qualified healthcare personnel.
Beyond medical care, the outreach also addressed essential welfare needs. Participants were provided with free food and drinks, ensuring nourishment and comfort throughout the program. In addition, mosquito nets, sanitary pads, and detergents were distributed to beneficiaries, further supporting personal hygiene, disease prevention, and overall well-being.
The atmosphere that day was filled with warmth, compassion, and gratitude, as many recipients expressed appreciation for the medical attention and relief items received.
This Day 3 outreach reaffirmed the mission’s commitment to providing quality healthcare and humanitarian support to all.
The 9th of January 2026 marked the successful conclusion of the Companions of the Wounded Healer Medical and Health Awareness Mission, which began on the 17th of December 2025. The final phase was held at Ogbor Nguru, a central location connecting the three Local Government Areas visited from Day One to Day Three.
A large number of people gathered to benefit from the medical services, health talks, and consultations provided during the outreach. Health professionals delivered an enlightening lecture on cancer, focusing on the most common types: prostate cancer in men and breast and cervical cancer in women. Participants were allowed to ask questions, and their concerns were addressed accordingly. Individuals with more sensitive or private issues were referred to doctors for proper consultation.
As part of the preventive and welfare support, mosquito nets, sanitary pads, and detergents were distributed to patients to promote hygiene and help prevent malaria, one of Nigeria’s most prevalent illnesses.
Patients with eye-related conditions were attended to by optometrists, who conducted refractions and prescribed eyeglasses, which were provided free of charge.
In total, over 250 patients, both young and old, received medical consultations for various health concerns.
Food and medications were also distributed to every beneficiary.
The beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude for the care and support they received. Their faces radiated joy as they received food and other essential items. Many offered prayers for God’s protection and blessings upon the sponsors and organizers.
The outreach was truly successful, and special appreciation goes to Dr. Miguel Garcia for his dedication to the common good and his commitment to improving community health. Through this mission, he has greatly enriched the lives of the people of Mbaise.
