Queen of Peace Nursery, Primary, and Secondary School, Oboama, Ezinihitte Mbaise, celebrated its 2026 graduation and send-off ceremonies in an atmosphere of joy, gratitude, and accomplishment as pupils and students marked the successful completion of another stage in their academic journey.
The primary school graduation was held on Saturday, July 25, while the secondary school graduation and send-off ceremony took place on Sunday, July 26, 2026, on the school premises. The events attracted parents, guardians, priests, teachers, alumni, friends, and well-wishers, all of whom gathered to celebrate the achievements of the graduating classes.
The ceremonies commenced with the celebration of the Holy Mass by the School Manager, Rev. Fr. George Opara, who urged the graduands to remain firmly anchored in Christian values as they advance to higher levels of education and embrace the responsibilities of adult life.
Preaching during the Mass, Fr. Opara underscored the indispensable place of wisdom in human development, observing that lasting success rests not merely on academic distinction but on the capacity to make prudent, morally grounded decisions. Quoting the biblical maxim that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,” he challenged the graduands to cultivate discipline, integrity, and diligence while remaining worthy ambassadors of their alma mater wherever life may lead them.
The events witnessed the graduation of 21 pupils from the Primary School and 24 students from the Secondary School, marking another significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and character formation.
Beyond the presentation of certificates, the celebrations showcased the diverse talents of the pupils and students through a rich blend of cultural, artistic, and intellectual performances. Guests were treated to captivating Abigbo cultural dances, energetic choreography, dramatic presentations, and other colorful displays that reflected the vibrancy of the school’s co-curricular life.
Among the defining moments of the event was an engaging debate on the motion, “AI tools have done more harm than good to students’ critical thinking.” Participants on both sides demonstrated impressive analytical ability, confidence, and eloquence, advancing well-reasoned arguments that drew sustained applause from the audience and highlighted the school’s emphasis on sound reasoning alongside academic achievement.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Fr.
