Thank you  for your prayers and support. -Bishop Nwobi to Ahiara Faithful As he marks 2nd Episcopal Anniversary

The Catholic Bishop of Ahiara Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Simeon Okezuo Nwobi, has continued to remain grateful to the priests, religious, and lay faithful of the diocese for their continual support and prayers. The Bishop, full of thanksgiving to God, stressed this on Friday, December 19, 2025, as he marked yet another remarkable year of his episcopal ordination.

This event, which started with a Holy Mass at Maria. Mater Ecclesiae Cathedral Ahiara had the celebrant, His Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Simeon Okezuo Nwobi, as the presider and a host of other priests as concelebrants. In the introduction, the Bishop thanked God for granting him the grace to be the pastor of his flock in Ahiara Diocese for these past two years. He equally prayed God to bless all those who support him and the diocese. Delivering the homily, Rev. Fr. Clement Okoro thanked God for the gift of Bishop Simeon Okezuo Nwobi, who came when the diocese was despondent to restore hope to the faithful. Fr. Okoro equally pointed out that the celebrant came as an abrupt end to the protracted misery of Ahiara Diocese. He equally thanked the Bishop for accepting to be the Bishop of the Diocese, just like Mary did in the scriptures by accepting to be the mother of the Savior.

Fr Okoro went further to say that the ordination and subsequent installation of Bishop Nwobi as the pastor of Ahiara Diocese brought to an end the mourning of the diocese and restored hope, joy, and peace to the diocese. He said that the coming of Bishop Nwobi has opened doors for many and has been a means of reviving the faith of the diocese.

Rev. Fr. Dr. Celestine Ekennia, on behalf of those present, articulated their sentiments of gratitude to God for the gift of the Bishop. He congratulated the Bishop and assured him of endless prayers.

In the vote of thanks, Bishop Nwobi stated how the priests, religious, and entire faithful of Ahiara Diocese have been of great support and encouragement to him. The prelate thanked God for the gift of his episcopacy. He equally said that these past two years have been great and beneficial to the entire diocese and beyond. “I am proud to be an Mbaise person,” the Bishop remarked.

Following the Mass was a reception at the Bishop’s court, in which the following activities featured prominently: Opening prayer by Rev. Fr. Christopher Akuchie, presentation of kolanuts by Rev. Fr. Godson Okoro, toasts, and light refreshments.
