Friday, January 2, 2026, was a day of great joy and happiness for the faithful at Christ the King Parish, Mpam, Owerre, as ten couples received the sacrament of matrimony. This remarkable event, which was organized by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Justin Onyemachi, began with a Holy Mass with the Parish Priest as the presider.
In the introduction, Fr. Onyemachi welcomed and thanked all present for the Mass, especially for making time to celebrate with the couples who will be receiving the sacrament of matrimony. He also thanked God for keeping everyone alive and for making it possible for the event to be a reality.
Delivering the homily, Fr. Onyemachi urged the couples to remain faithful and steadfast to each other both in good and bad times; he equally admonished them to cherish and support each other. The presider made known to them the great importance of communicating with each other in kindness and understanding. He also told the couples to always have the fear of God in all their endeavors.
The exchange of rings and marital vows took place, in which the couples declared to love and cherish each other for the rest of their lives.
Fr. Onyemachi congratulated the newlywed couples and also encouraged them to live in peace and harmony as husband and wives.
Following the Mass, all proceeded to the reception ground with joy and celebration.
