Stewards of Hope Foundation holds 2026 Humanitarian Outreach

Stewards of Hope Foundation, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, held their annual humanitarian outreach at the premises of Sacred Heart Parish Nguru Center, once more putting smiles on the faces of people this new year. This wonderful team, led by Rev. Fr. Dr. Canice Chinyeaka Enyiaka, has continued to touch many lives, especially the indigents in various communities. This humanitarian outreach, organized annually, cuts across so many parts of the country, as there were beneficiaries from Mbaise, Okigwe, Umuahia, Portharcourt, Enugu, and other parts of the country.

The event started with the accreditation of the recipients of the outreach. Following was the celebration of Holy Mass that was presided over by Rev. Fr. Canice Chinyeaka Enyiaka and concelebrated by Frs. Chinatu Anyanwu, Peter Claver Ohaeri, and Benjamin Ogbonna. Delivering the homily, Fr. Peter Claver Ohaeri started by thanking God for the gift of Fr. Canice Enyiaka, whose contributions have been instrumental in making life livable for those experiencing some challenges. He said that the activities of the foundation are a clear manifestation of practical Christianity. Fr. Ohaeri gave an analysis of the foundation’s mantra, which is “Giving love through hope,” saying that it is the best way we can diffuse God’s blessings to others. He further intimated to the faithful to always be willing to share with others what they have received from God, for no one is too poor to give or too rich to receive.

Finally, the homilist recommended the virtue of humility between the giver, who should give without the intention of self-aggrandizement, and the receiver, who should be grateful. He exhorted everyone to be stewards of hope in their own capacities.

In the vote of thanks, Fr. Enyiaka thanked God for all his favors and blessings upon the foundation and for using them as agents to reduce the burden of some individuals. He equally welcomed and thanked the priests present, the board members of the foundation, and all the recipients. Fr. Enyiaka encouraged the recipients not to feel as if their situation is worse and to have hope for a better future.

After the Mass, there was the presentation of wheelchairs, crutches, food items, cash gifts, and other materials to those present.

OkeNze Kingsley Onyekwere, who was a beneficiary of the outreach on behalf of all beneficiaries, articulated their sentiments of gratitude to the foundation and begged God to continue to bless and provide for them.

Barr. Damian Nosike, one of the directors of the foundation, congratulated Fr. Canice Enyiaka on his priestly ordination silver jubilee celebration, thanking him for his great input in the foundation and assuring him of their prayers.

The event ended with a closing prayer by the host, Rev. Fr. Dr. Canice Chinyeaka Enyiaka.
