On Sunday, January 18, 2025, the family, friends, parishioners of St. Anthony’s parish in Ibeku, and the entire community of Ibeku, Okwuato, in Aboh Mbaise LGA, joyfully welcomed and joined in the thanksgiving Mass and celebration of the priestly ordination of their son, Rev. Fr. Anthony Nwabueze Nwachukwu, MJMC.
Rev. Fr. Anthony Nwabueze Nwachukwu, who belongs to the Missionaries of Jesus and Mary of Cana (MJMC), was ordained on Friday, November 27, 2025, by His Lordship, Giovanni D’Ecrole Vescovo, the Emeritus Bishop of the Diocese of Ascoli Piceno, Italy.
Following his ordination, Fr. Nwachukwu deemed it necessary to celebrate his first Thanksgiving Mass at his home parish, St. Anthony’s Parish, Ibeku Okwuato. The Thanksgiving Mass had the celebrant as the presider, with a great number of priests from different parts of the world as concelebrants. Rev. Fr. Reginald Ibe, the homilist of the day, thanked God for the gift of the priesthood to Fr. Anthony Nwachukwu and further advised him to ensure that he gives his best and all to the service of God through his ministerial activities as a priest.
The parish priest, Rev. Fr. Christopher Egbule, on behalf of the parishioners, welcomed and congratulated the newly ordained priest. In great joy, the celebrant thanked and appreciated the efforts of those who came to thank God with him and pledged his continuous prayers for them.
