On Saturday, January 3, 2026, the Agoha family, friends, and the entire community of believers of St. Charles Catholic Church Enyiogugu gathered to bid farewell to a centenarian, the amazing and timeless Golden Mother Ezinne Monica Utoro Agoha.
The funeral Mass held at St. Charles Parish Enyiogugu was presided over by Rev. Fr. Dr. Evaristus Mbata, the Ahiara Diocesan Chancellor/Secretary, with other priests as concelebrants. Delivering the homily, Rev. Fr. Joseph Munachimso remarked that the gathering is one of thanksgiving to God for the impactful long life he granted to Ezinne Monica Agoha and begged God to purge her of all her transgressions and accept her into his presence. Fr. Munachimso pointed out that life begins with birth and death is an inevitable end that will greet every person. He urged the faithful to make something positive from the death and funeral of Ezinne Monica, being a pointer to their own death and calling for preparations. “In death, God does not see us as dead, but returning to him,” he stated.
Furthermore, Fr. Munachimso said that Ezinne Agoha led a good and exemplary life, helping to institute a family solidly grounded in faith and love of Christ. He urged the faithful, especially the children, to keep the faith growing.
The Assistant Priest, Rev. Fr. Stanley Osuagwu, welcomed and thanked all present and condoled with the bereaved family.
Mr. John Ejike Agoha, on behalf of the family, expressed their sentiments of gratitude to those who came from far and near to mourn with them.
Other activities followed after Mass.
