Child of God, it is not enough to call yourself a Christian or a devoted Catholic simply because you attend Mass on Sundays, yet do not belong to any pious society in the Church.

Pious societies are platforms where you offer God your time, talent, and treasure, and through them, you grow spiritually and attract greater blessings.

Take a bold step today, join one or two pious societies, and become more actively involved in the work of God.

Note: CMO, CWO, and CYON are only statutory groups.

List of some Catholic Pious Societies/Associations in Nigeria & What they do

During Mass/Liturgical Celebrations:

I. St. Cecilia Choir:

Leads the congregation in songs, psalms, and liturgical music during worship.

II. Lectors/Lay Readers Association:

Proclaims the Word of God and liturgical readings during Mass and services.

III. Catholic Church Wardens Association:

Maintains order, discipline, and smooth coordination inside the church during services.

IV. Altar Servers/Mass Servers Association:

Assist the priest at the altar during Mass and other liturgical celebrations.

V. Man of Order and Discipline (MOD):

Ensures orderliness, crowd control, and security around the church environment.

They use their talents in music, drama, comedy, film, and other creative arts for faith promotion, evangelization, networking, and mutual support among Catholic artists.
