Ksji Extends Care Beyond Convention Walls by Visiting Holy Rosary Hospital Ogbor Nguru

Takes Compassion and Hope to the Sick by Acts of Charity, Prayers, and Counselling

The 5th Annual Convention of Mbaise Global KSJI Family was held successfully on Monday, December 29, 2025. Brothers and sisters of Mbaise extraction came from all over the world to attend.

Rev. Fr. Jude Tochukwu Nwachukwu presided over the Opening Mass and enjoined all to keep the flag of the faith flying even in these challenging times. He congratulated the organization and prayed for the newly elected and appointed members from across the Commanderies and Auxiliaries all over the world. These include Brig. General Francis Njoku, newly elected Abuja Grand President; Noble Sr. Cecilia Emecheta of Auxiliary 397 Ahiara, elected Owerri Grand Respected President; Hon. Lady Amaka Oparaoji of Maryland Auxiliary, appointed the Hon. Commissioner for Multicultural Affairs in Prince George’s County, Maryland, USA; Noble Sr. Jane Akponye, Respected President of Divine Mercy Auxiliary 521 Los Angeles; Bro. Henry Enyinna, installed Rotarian President in Lagos, and other Mbaise brothers and sisters elected into different positions at the various echelons of the KSJI—Supreme, Supreme Subordinate, Grand, Regiment, District, and local.

Fr. Nwachukwu blessed the brand-new Mass Box donated by Sir John C.A. Nwoko of Queen of Angels Commandery 608, Los Angeles, and prayed for him and his family.

On behalf of the Mbaise Global KSJI Family, the coordinator and founder, Noble Sr. Viola Onwuliri, thanked Bro John for his magnanimity and generosity while congratulating all the newly elected officers whose names she read out from a long list of them. They were later presented with certificates of recognition and outstanding performance by different officers present.

Fittingly, Hon. Sr. Amaka Oparaoji expressed immense appreciation for government-appointed officers and how happy they were to be recognized at home. Noble Sr. Cecilia Emecheta spoke on behalf of the KSJI-elected officers and pledged their commitment to uphold our 140-year-old global KSJI constitution for the good of the Order and the church and service to humanity. Other officers spoke and pledged commitment to the good of the Catholic faith and the Order.

Furthermore, reports were presented by different members on what obtains in their areas of operation. Some decisions were thereafter taken for the good of the Order. Then there was the cutting of the convention cake, elaborate entertainment, refreshments, and dancing.

After the closing ceremonies, members led by Bro. Casmir Ekechukwu and Uche Agomuo took off to visit the sick and caregivers at the Holy Rosary Hospital, Ogbor Nguru. They gifted them with food and words of consolation and counselling. They were all full of joy and thanked KSJI for her thoughtfulness and kind gesture. It was a most fulfilling outreach, as the hospital chaplain, Fr. Brendan Iwunna, imparted blessings on each patient they visited. The group had a brief interactive session with some of the nurses, and the visit came to a close.
