The family of Late Chief Sir Fidelis Nwaogu Nwachukwu of Eziudo, Ezinihitte Mbaise, with great joy, celebrated the 86th birthday of their beloved mother, Lady (Lolo) Regina Nnenna Nwachukwu, LSM, on Friday, January 2, 2026

The celebration began with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration at Saint Thomas Catholic Church, Eziudo, Ezinihitte Mbaise, with Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachukwu, Secretary of the Dicastery for Evangelization, Vatican City & Titular Bishop of Aquaviva, as the preisder. A host of other priests concelebrated.

Delivering the homily, Rev. Fr. Dr. Innocent Nwachukwu, the son of the celebrant, began by thanking God for the gift of a new year. He dwelt deeply on the themes of gratitude, faith, family, and prayer as aspects that, when taken seriously, will make life seamless and enjoyable.

The parish priest, Very Rev. Fr. Oliver Onwubiko, welcomed the archbishop to their parish and the other priests present.

Prof. Chike Patrick Chike, on behalf of the family, related their sentiments of gratitude to the Archbishop, the priests, and all present to be part of their mother’s birthday celebrations.

Responding to the sentiments, the Archbishop made known that he was delighted to be in Mbaise once again and especially to be the presider in the mass of the birthday celebration of the mother of Rev. Fr. Innocent Nwachukwu, whom he described as a close friend and worthy son. He congratulated the celebrant and imparted his blessings to the faithful.

The mass was followed by a grand reception at the family compound.
