On Friday, January 2, 2026, people from diverse areas gathered at St. Peter’s Parish, Umueleagwa Onicha, to join the family of the late Mr. Bartholomew Anyanwu to celebrate 50 fruitful years of marriage of their mother, Ezinne Amb. Francisca Anyanwu.
The celebration of this remarkable event commenced with a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration with the Vicar General of Ahiara Diocese, Very Rev. Fr. Godson Okoro, as the presider, with many priests and religious in attendance.
Delivering the homily, Rev. Fr. Dr. Timothy Okeahialam, while reflecting on the impactful life of Ezinne Francisca Anyanwu and her glaring positive effects on her family, emphasized the need for parents to train their children well and make sacrifices for them. He further encouraged them to teach their children strong moral values and good Christian foundations that will aid them in cultivating good moral virtues that will yield them great positive returns in the future.
Considering the economic crunch of the society and the difficulties experienced by people, Fr. Okeahialam intimated to parents to give their best for their children. She described Ezinne Francisca as one who sacrificed her energy, resources, and time for the well-being of the family. “She and her beloved husband taught their children the way of God, and it is evident in the way the children still show love for God and the church today,” he stressed.
Before the end of Mass, Rev. Fr. Frankline Anyanwu, the son of the celebrant, thanked all priests, religious, relatives, friends, and well-wishers who came to join them as they celebrate their mother. He equally used the same medium to appreciate the efforts of their parents, who toiled day and night to ensure that they got all the necessary things to be worthy ambassadors of the church and the society. Fr. Anyanwu recalled that their parents, even in difficult moments, never gave up on providing for them, especially quality education.
The eldest son, Engr. Kingsley Anyanwu, on behalf of the family, expressed their sentiments of gratitude to all present for the great event.
The reception to mark the celebration was attended by dignitaries and church officials, including the Catholic Bishop of Ahiara Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Simeon Okezuo Nwobi CMF, and other personalities of note. The Bishop congratulated the celebrant and wished her more fruitful years ahead.
