On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Simeon Okezuo Nwobi, installed six senior seminarians to the office of Acolytate and four to the office of Lectorate of Ahiara Diocese. The event began with Holy Mass, which was presided over by Bishop Simeon Okezuo Nwobi CMF and concelebrated with the Diocesan Chancellor. Very Rev. Fr. Evaristus Mbata at the Bishop’s chapel.
Fr. Mbata, during the homily, admonished the seminarians on the need to carry responsibilities attached to the offices they are about to receive. To those who receive acolytes, he advised always identifying themselves with the table of the Eucharist and services around it. “As you are gradually coming closer to the priesthood, you must be at home with the word of God,” Fr. Mbata noted, as he admonished the lectors on the necessity to boldly proclaim the word of God.
The bishop also congratulated the newly installed seminarians and urged them to live out in full the responsibilities the church has bestowed on them.
The newly installed lectors include: Nwatata Fidelis, Ogunali Emmanuel, Akponye Arinze, and Nwadioha Samuel, while the newly installed acolytes are Ihuoma Kingsley, Onyegbula Clinton, Obasi Emmanuel, Nwoko Callistus, Maduakor Epiphanus, and Obioma Samuel.
