The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Ezinihitte Mbaise chapter, on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, commissioned and inaugurated a new secretariat office located opposite Union Bank Plc, Aboh Mbaise, in a development described by party members as a significant step in strengthening the party’s grassroots structure.
The office was donated by Hon. Osondu C. Nnorom, an indigene of Oboama Ezinihitte Mbaise and aspirant for the Imo State House of Assembly, Ezinihitte Constituency, a generous gesture that drew commendations from party officials and members who gathered for the commissioning ceremony.

The event opened with prayers led by Pastor Chidubem Benedict, while the kolanut was presented by Double Dr. Chief Sir Stanislaus Iheoma, Chairman of NDC Ezinihitte LGA. He thanked members of the Ezinihitte chapter for their organizational efforts and praised Hon. Nnorom’s contribution, noting that the party remains open to new membership registrations and wider participation.

In his address, the donor, Hon. Nnorom, said the commissioning marked the formal handover of a space intended for deliberations on issues affecting the party and the wider Ezinihitte community. He described the initiative as part of a broader commitment to community development, stressing the need for collective responsibility. “Mbaise is the project,” he said, urging unity of purpose among stakeholders. He also expressed optimism about electoral processes, calling for credible elections supported by effective monitoring mechanisms.
The symbolic handover of the office key was performed by the donor to Hon. Stanley Igbo, on behalf of Chief Teddy Obeh, South-East National Vice Chairman, who described it as “an open door to many good things” for the Ezinihitte people. The key was subsequently handed over to the LGA chairman.

Following the commissioning, the first official meeting of the party was held within the new secretariat under the leadership of Dr. Iheoma.
The event also featured material support, including the donation of chairs for office use and cash contributions by High Chief Hon. Mike Unegbu, an aspirant for the Imo State House of Assembly, Ezinihitte Constituency, alongside other financial support from the host.
