On Monday, 13 April 2026, the bishop, clergy, and faithful of the Catholic Diocese of Ahiara gathered at the Maria Mater Ecclesiae Cathedral to mark the first anniversary of the death of Very Rev. Msgr. Cletus Ogu.
The eucharistic celebration was presided over by the bishop.
In the homily, Rev. Fr. Vitus Umeyor invited the faithful to view the occasion not as one of mourning but of thanksgiving, reflecting on the life of the late Monsignor as one spent in devoted service to the Gospel; he recalled the scriptural assurance that the life of the righteous is fulfilled in God and urged all present to live in readiness, shaped by faith and fidelity.
The Vicar General, Very Rev. Fr. Godson Okoro, conveyed appreciation to all who gathered in remembrance.
