Ahiara BRC Holds Leadership Retreat Ahead of Diocesan Congress

The Block Rosary Crusade (BRC) of the Catholic Diocese of Ahiara has concluded a three-day leadership retreat as part of its preparations for the forthcoming diocesan congress, drawing participants into a period of prayer, reflection, and strategic alignment.

Held from March 20 to 22, 2026, the retreat carried the theme “Leadership: A Call to Service and Sacrifice” and brought together leaders from across the diocese for what organizers described as a deliberate effort to deepen spiritual discipline while strengthening organizational coherence.

Activities included Rosary processions, Eucharistic Adoration, Holy Mass, lectures, workshops, penitential rites, and general meetings, all geared towards strengthening the mission of the Block Rosary Crusade.

The retreat was held under the spiritual guidance of the Diocesan Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Valentine Emereonye, and the Assisting Diocesan Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Shedrach Onyebuchi, whose presence and support contributed greatly to the success of the program.

A central feature of the retreat was a series of instructive and impactful lectures. Rev. Fr. Kyrian Chilaka called attention to the hidden discipline of reflective prayer and sacrificial living, insisting that authentic leadership must be rooted in an interior life that is both tested and faithful. Rev. Fr. Pius Ibeawuchi Anyanwu presented leadership as a mission of love, one that demands humility, attentiveness, and constancy in service.  In a closing presentation, Rev. Fr. Eunan Ejimudo Njoku framed leadership as an act of total self-gift, calling for integrity and accountability in service to both God and community.

Workshops held at the deanery level provided space for collaboration and exchange of ideas, with a focus on strengthening grassroots activities and coordination across the diocese.

The retreat ended with a closing Mass on Sunday, leaving participants spiritually renewed and organisationally aligned, as preparations for the diocesan congress gather momentum. The Block Rosary Crusade warmly calls on all members and the entire faithful to actively engage, remain prayerful, and support the activities leading up to the congress.
